The Story:
For 15 years I cruised and traveled through the Bahamas exploring the Out Islands. So many wonderful people I met and sights I saw. The Abacos, Marsh Harbour, Elbow Cay, Green Turtle Cay, Guana Cay, Man O' War Cay, The Exumas, Stocking Island, Nassau, Chub Cay and Southward.
This painting is a view from my friends helm station with various cruising guides but the book that caught my attention was Flirting with Mermaids. What an inviting title for a book. If you have ever gone cruising in the Bahamas or Caribbean, one might dream a little and wonder if this is where Mermaids live. However the book is about a delivery Captain and his humurous and terrifying adventures. Obviously this Captain was intrigued by John Kretschmers' stories.
